Reflections on some trousers

So, 2016 is upon us and I am here in front of my computer contemplating my outdoors-y-ness, whilst many of you are outdoors. What a miserable last few months we have had and, trying to be realistic, unhealthy water levels for the open canoeist in me.

'Aspira Trousers'
I have however been doing some background walks and activity to keep my mind from going completely vegetable. Walking in the rain wearing Paramo! Back in August I was lucky enough to acquire some 'Paramo Cascada' trousers, as the more heavy duty 'Aspira' trousers I already have were proving a bit overkill with my more regular day to day walking and outdoor work. The 'Aspira' has proved to be and still is brilliant on my more extended excursions into the mountains or in the snow so do not let this post put you off.

But for walking the dog, working on site activities and day trips in the outdoors, something a bit lighter was preferable, so I obtained the 'Cascada' trousers which are Paramo's cheapest (when shopped for in August) waterproof trousers using there patented analogy waterproof technology and is made in Columbia at there impressive facility, wear they maintain a very respectable attitude in terms of work ethics & attitude towards the people who make there clothing.

The ethics of Paramo is something that originally drew me to their clothing, rather then any other outdoor clothing brand. To find out more visit their website: www.paramo-clothing.com/en-gb/ourethics

This is what Paramo say regarding these trousers (taken from there website):

Men's Cascada Waterproof Trousers - DARK GREY:
'Cascada Trousers'
'The Men's or Women's Cascada Trousers are Páramo’s solution to an age-old problem, removing the need for regular stops to pull on or pull off waterproof legwear. The trousers, with their unique leg ventilation and articulation provide complete comfort and full waterproof protection for a wide variety of outdoor activities.'

Well done Paramo! These trousers are wonderfully simple and very comfortable, I have found them invaluable companions on the day to day work in the wet rainy south west Wales that I am currently in.

I have also used them on open canoe trips back in the early autumn, and for walks along the coastal path. I have never been to hot or to cold whilst wearing them and have simply been content when walking in the  rain or in the sunshine, however limited that sunshine has been since August.

Thank you Paramo for meeting the simple needs of a simple outdoors-man and thank you reader, for reading. Happy 2016 adventures everyone!
